Angels are watching over us

Happy Sunday to all my fellow maggie addicts, uh ...I mean friends. lol This is a card that I made for a friend of mine who's having a really difficult time with the death of he son. I wanted to keep the card relatively simple.

I'd also like to enter this card into the magnolicious highlights color challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Wishing you a joyous christmas

Happy Columbus day. I hope those of you that had this holiday off, enjoyed your day. Today was rainy and cool here, so it was the perfect day to stay in my jammies and do some card making.

It's been a while since I've had a chance to play with my maggies, so this was a much needed day for me. As always thank you for stopping by and for the wonderful comments. They are so appreciated.

Once in a lifetime

Happy Sunday to all my Maggie friends. I decided to make my girlfriend a card as she just got engaged to a wonderful man.

A Cheery hello

Happy Saturday to all my blog friends. Today was a great day for me. I spent most of the day at the Scrapbook Expo in GA and got some new goodies to play with. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a thing for Cardinals and when I saw this stamp from Heartfelt Creations, I just knew it had to come home with me (ok, a few more fell in my basket as well). I couldn't wait to get home and color it. I don't think you can see it in the photo but there is glossy accents on the cherries.

The Card is colored with copics and there are a variety of papers from my scrap stash. The swirls are doohickeys from Magnolicious.

Sending Sunshine

I should feel guilty as I didn't do anything that I should have done this weekend, instead I played in my scraproom all weekend. This is a card that I did just for the heck of it. I guess it's going in my stash for when I need a unexpected card.

Tilda's dress is paper pieced and there is alot of dimension on this card. As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by for a visit.

Altered Clock

I found this cheap clock at Walmart for $2 a long time ago and finally decided that my stamproom needed a clock so of course I had to alter it with my favorite stamps. I made a card last week using the same papers and really loved the color combo so I decided that I would use it to decorate the clock.

Papers are by Bo-Bunny, colored with Copics

A birthday card for a good friend

Finally I found some time to get into my craft room to make a card. This card is for a good friend that I've known since middle school. Papers are all by BoBunny.

As always, thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit and for all the sweet comments. Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.

Wishing you everything wonderful

I decided to take a break today and spend some time in my craftroom. This is what I came up with. I have to admit that I have been on a search and hunt mission for what seems like months for that Graphic 45 Cherry paper but have not been able to find it anywhere. So, if all else fails, make your own. lol I actually liked how the paper turned out but not so sure about the card. Something just seems off to me but haven't been able to figure out what. Oh well. It's done. lol

As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by for a visit and I appreciate all the sweet comments that you make.

Thank you card

This is a card that I made for a very special person who has helped me tremendously since my daughters death. As most know, I moved my niece in with us last month to try and help get her life on track, but unfortunately I guess I wasn't very successful. This past Thursday she attempted suicide while I was at work. Fortunately we found her in time but she needs more help than I think I can give. So, my husband and I are looking for an inpatient program for her.

I would really appreciate any prayers that you can spare for Cassandra. I hope everyone had a wonderful mothers day!

Easter Wishes

Well the past couple of days I've spent trying to get my house in order. My 20 year old niece is coming to live with me. She's had a really rough life so far. So she asked if she could come to GA and is on her way right now. She'll be here in an hour. That means trying to get her room set up so that she'll be comfortable. I'll be honest I'm excited and scared at the same time. I really hope that I can help her but I haven't been in the best frame of mind. They say the best way to help with the grieving process is to try and help others and I'm choosing to believe that we can help each other. If you could say a prayer for both of us, I would really appreciate it. It's going to be an adjustment for everyone but I think we'll be ok.

Anyways on to the card. I got to spend a little time creating a new Easter Card. I found this gorgeous paper and just couldn't wait to do something with it. This is a card for my Mingle partner so hopefully she's not looking. lol I hope everyone is having a wonderful week.

Spring frame

I'm going to keep this post short since I pretty much burned your ears off earlier today. lol I decided to make an altered frame for my desk at work. I really need something bright and cheery and thought this might work. So anyways, today I have a new altered frame that I will be posting for the Magnolia-licious spring contest. This is my first time playing with this particular Tilda and I thought she was quite appropriate for a picture of my daughter since she loved butterflies.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to post on my blog. Hope your having a wonderful weekend.

कैंडी Winner

Hmmm...Guess my blog is acting a little funny today. I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for all sweet comments that were left and it's so good to know that so many are praying for me. Please believe me when I say that they mean so much to me. I'm so sorry that I'm a little late in announcing the winner of Cindy's Birthday Candy but it's been rough the last couple of days and I guess I just needed a few days to feel sorry for myself. Don't worry, I'm doing my best to get myself out of it.

My husband and I celebrated our daughters birthday as we would have had she been here with us. I made her favorite dinner which she requested every year. Lasagna and of course we had to have a birthday cake for her as well. After dinner my husband and I wrote messages on balloons and released them in front of our house. I'm praying that those messsages made it to her in heaven. We stood there watching them go so high until they were out of sight, so I choose to beleive that they did make it and she knows how blessed I was to be her mom for the 23 years that I had her with me. She was such a kind person and hard worker and had so much going for her. I always told her she was going to make a career out of going to school becuase she loved it so much. She was just shy of getting her bachelors degree and was going to continue on to get her masters. I was so proud of the person that she had become.

Anyways, I'm sorry for rambling on. Seems that sometimes happens when I start talking about Cindy. Hug your children and enjoy every second that you have with them. I wanted to share a layout that I did of Cindy. It was done a couple of years ago but the picture of her always reminded me of an angel and also a couple of pictures from her birthday.

Oh and back to the reason why we're here. The winner of the candy. Sorry, I almost forgot that part. lol Everyone was put into a jar and my husband picked Sheri. Sherry if you coule please email me at jpatton66@hotmail.com and provide me with your address, I will get your candy out this week.

SPRING CARD

I finally got to spend a little time making a card. It's been a cold, rainy day here today. The perfect day to spend in my stamproom. I decided to make a card for my mom to let her know that I'm thinking of her.

As always, thank you for taking the time to visit. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Thank you Candy

I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who visits my blogs and takes the time to leave me such sweet comments. It's been almost a year since I started this blog. I originally started it as a way to keep in touch with my daughter and who was off in college in FL.

Most of you know that my daughter was killed in a car accident. It's been 6 months since the accident and I miss her so much every second of everyday. I think the one thing that has kept me going is my love of this hobby as well as all of the support that I've gotten from so many people who belong to this wonderful group.

Cindy's 24th birthday is April 6th. So in her honor and as a way to say thank you I've decided to get some candy together for you. Please leave a comment below as well as your blog address if you have one.

I have no idea how to do Mr. Linky so I will put all the names in a jar and have my husband pull the winning name.I would love it if you chose to follow my blog and post this candy on your sidebar but it isn't necessary to win.

Thank you again for all the love and support that I've gotten from this group. You have no idea how much you've touched my heart.

Easter Tilda

I can't believe that we are already close to Easter. Where is the year going? I've had this little Tilda for a while but it's the first time that I've inked her up. I decided on an Easel card and I'm thinking that I may have put too much on it. Haven't decided yet. It's done, i guess that's all the matters. lol

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. The weather is 80 degrees with a cool breeze. I couldn't ask for more than that. Happy Crafting and thanks for stopping by.

Wishing you a special day

I just love the new stamps from the "you are so special" line. I couldn't wait to ink them up and have some fun with them. This is a card that I've done for a friends birthday coming up next month.

The colors I'll admit are alot brighter than I'm used to. Trying to break out of my comfort zone...not sure how that's working for me yet.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're all enjoying the beautiful weather outstide.

Hello fellow maggie lovers. As always, I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy lives to stop by my blog. Your comments are always so appreciated.

I'm not sure why I made this card other than the fact that I love this sweet little Tilda and couldn't wait to ink her up. My camera is on the fritz so I had to take the picture with my phone. The colors are not as vivid as they are IRl.

I hope you're all having a wonderful day!

A card for Haile

Please help a child in need of a smile

This card is for a very special girl who could use as our help. A simple gesture such as making a card might help to make her difficult days a little brighter. Crafters are some of the most generous, thoughtful people that I know. Won't you help put a smile on this little girls face?

Please read below for a little more about Halie. This was taken from Michelle's Scrapbookings blog

Haeli is this little girl's name and she is a 6th grader( 12 years old) in Canton Ohio. Haeli is dealing with a very serious disease that is very hard for an adult to deal with so for a child I can't even begin to understand.
She has a very rare form of ovarian cancer. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

You can read the whole story about this on Michelle's blog.http://michellesscrap.blogspot.com/2011/03/special-story-to-tell-youcan-you-help.html

You know when things like this touch in our lives it makes us stop and think of just how blessed that we really are in our own lives and or helps us cope with our own lives better.

I will be sending my card to:

Here is the card that I've done. She's wasn't done with any particular occassion in mind, so I'll just pot her away until I need a card. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far! Thanks for stopping by.

My copic storage unit

I thought I world share some photos of my new storage unit that I I made last night. I,m really pleased with how it turned out. I have to give a huge Thank you to Jennifer for sharing her unit and providing instructions that I could actually understand. lol Here is her unit with instructions if you want them. http://mymagnoliaworld.blogspot.com/2011/02/copic-storage-instructions.html

I also thought I'd share some new photos of the room that I'm using now as my craft room. I was in a huge room downstairs which was my scraproom. I haven't been able to scrap since I lost my daughter and being down there was too hard for me so I moved into one of the smaller guest rooms upstairs.

The stamp shelf was made by my husband for my birthday a couple of years ago. I love it but need another one. Hmmm...maybe I can get him to do another one this year as only my favorite wood stamps are on there. The rest are stored in drawers.

The case that holds my inks (mostly memento) is an old cassette case that I found at good will. It's the perfect size for my inks.

The unit that is holding my coveted punches is from target. You buy the pieces separately and just stack. What you aren't seeing in the picture is that there is a total of 4 drawers under the shelves and they hold all my supplies.

Oh and the little black thingie (not sure what to call that) is perfect because it's got a bunch of cubbieds that hold mostly new things that need to be put away. Sort of my catch all. It also has a slot in the back that holds 12x12 paper. Love that and I bought that at Hobby Lobby.

In the one picture you can see that I have my maggies on my desk in the plastic cases made for storing clings and clear stamps. I have all of my stamps stored that way and love it but only my maggies make it to the desk. lol

Well thanks for stopping by and letting me share my room with you and a huge shout out to Jennifer for sharing that. You are my hero. lol

Happy Valentine's Day

I've been asked from some of my coworkers to create some cards to sell at work. So, I figure its a good way to make some extra money for more maggies. lol

A card for a coworker

A coworker of mine recently fell and broke both her ankles during a snow/ice stom that we had last week. the inside of the card says "you'll be back on your feet in no time".

The picture isn't the best as I took it with my phone when I got to work this morning.

Wishing you a perfect day

Today is the perfect day for card making since we're snowed in for the 2nd day. Being from FL, I can tell you that the snow days are wonderful, but being a prisoner in your home...not so much. So, what better way to spend a snow day than coloring these little cuties.

I have no idea what this card is for but I wanted something pretty and cheery since the weather outside is so dreary. Hmmm...really wasn't trying to rhyme there. Anyways, thanks for stopping by and as always your comments are so appreciated.
